What it's all about:
This user group is for Linux users of all levels. Our goal is to help the Cookeville community and surrounding areas broaden its knowledge of one of the world's most powerful and yet 'free' operating systems. If you are a Linux user or 'open source' enthusiast from any profession, we invite you to attend a meeting and get involved!
We have meetings every 4th Monday of the month at 'Poets on the Square', where we encourage individuals to present the way(s) they use Linux and Open Source Software. Usually people like to talk about what they do at their job, but hobbyists are certainly not excluded.
Please contact us if you are interested in presenting on a topic and we'll get you in the queue for an upcoming meeting! If we don't have anything in particular to discuss, we can just have open discussion and take turns at the wheel discussing whatever may be of interest that evening.
The only guideline that the group has, is that topics/discussions will be about the Linux OS and/or Open Source Software packages used on Linux...hence why it is called a LUG ..'Linux' User Group. Of course there will be exceptions to that guideline such as the interfacing between server/client of different platforms, compatibility, etc...
Upcoming Meetings
None as of now.. If anyone has any ideas, please email me. We've all been pretty busy lately.
